Security and Safety

All staff take personal responsibility for the safety and security of the children in our care. The gate in York Road by the school office is the only pedestrian entrance during the school day and entry into the school building is controlled by a security system. All visitors must go to the school office to sign in and receive a visitor’s badge. You will be challenged if you are not wearing one!

The doors and gates used by Foundation Stage parents and children at the beginning and end of school sessions and the pedestrian gate on the corner of York Road and Well Street are all locked during the school day.

Security cameras are installed at various points around the school building and in the grounds and these are monitored daily by the school Caretaker.

Children are made aware of our security procedures and why they are important and learn about keeping themselves safe.

All activities involving any potential risk to children are fully risk assessed. Children are involved with identifying risk and learn how to manage it.
